After a couple days at my parents' (S1E4), we packed our things to return to the capital and begin the new study term. Axe got along with everyone in my family, and my father asked him before we left: "take good care of my daughter". You can judge this request the way you want. The perspective I choose to look at it is that I was far away from my parent's care (for many years, by the way), and even though I was able to take care of myself, it would be good to have someone that would support and encourage my decisions and provide some help in case of sickness.
However, Axe was at a point he needed to support himself more than anyone. He left the Armed Forces to study, but after two years of Automation Engineering, he started to feel that it was not what he wanted to do. "Maybe International Relations", he said one day. "Actually, I am more between Economics and Business Administration", he said the other day. I could feel how that (in)decision made him anxious and consumed him. He then took that semester to attend disciplines in different areas and finally decided he wanted to attend Business Administration. This took more energy than I could express in a paragraph, though.
Today we can see how important it was the intensity of our first months together. We had time to express our ideas, share our fears, support each other's goals. Time for him to meet my parents, see my origins, and my family's values. He still tells me how much he appreciated my hair with the smell of shampoo mixed with the smoke from the woodstove. This is something probably I will only get at the ranch.
